Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

REMEMBRANCE Sunday takes place on the Sunday nearest 11th November, the anniversary of the end of the First World War. It is a day to remember all those who have died in war.

This day of commemoration is also popularly known as 'poppy day', after the British Legion poppy appeal, which raises money to support and aid veterans, dependents and those serving today.
